The Paintings of Adam Talley
In this area, you will find some of Adam's oil and acrylic paintings.
"Attack of My Mind Birds" --Fall 2002
This painting was the start of some abstracts I was doing on cardboard. Im pretty satisfied with the results.
"Parallels" --Fall 2002
One of my first fantasy paintings. This pic is kind of bad and I will update it. It is about a warrior who is dwelling around a land of reunions of townsfolk and sorrows of a lost love.
"Fierce Isotopes" --Fall 2002
More abstracts on cardboard. Other than the fold in the center, I'm pretty happy with this one too.
"Ghost Dragon" --Fall 2002
This one is about a ghost warrior riding a dragon. Pretty cool stuff. I'm gonna explore this type of thing more later on in the year.
"Self Portrait" --Winter 2003
This is a cartoony portait of me as a sort of judge over everyone around me. The people behind me are in neon bright colours, meaning they were colourful to the world. Whereas me, Im this dirty, dark figure, large and looming, judging them all.
"Masterbating Geek" --Winter 2003
This was part of my UNDESIRABLES series of my senior year. I painted this to comment on how geeks are treated in society. Its a burst of sexual frustration/release in the form of self gratification. An honest, open look at a minority that is often considered "undesired" by today's society in America.
"Two Men In the Park" --Spring 2003
Another one of my UNDESIREABLES series, this is about how older men have to come to terms with being gay. Its sort of accepted for a college age man to be gay, but not an older man unless its a swishy stereotype (I.E. The Birdcage). These two men are in the park kissing. People behind them are just doing their own thing not really caring or reacting to it. Again, my camera isnt that good so there is a glare in the top part. I humbly apologize.
"Portait of Bob Dylan" --Winter 2001
This was part of my 2-D Design class assignment. We were supposed to build a "Sacred Box" in which to hold something we value. I choose music and said that music isn't something that should be kept in a box. Rather I painted a bunch of my favorite artists in Acrylic on Boards and said that they were a doorway for everyone to go to that magic place where music effects you. It turned out okay. I'd like to to a better one now. But its more of my cartoony style.
